CLEARING
Who it’s for: Anyone who needs support evaluating, sorting, and removing items, from one room to an entire home.
Clearing is the process of reviewing and sorting items in order to remove the ones that are no longer necessary to keep, and properly store those that will remain. But it doesn’t have to be an entire home—it can be one or two rooms, or even just a specific type of clutter, such as paperwork. It also can apply to cases of severe over accumulation; I have extensive experience with these delicate situations.
We start with three groupings: “Keep” and “Go” are the two most obvious ones, but “Not sure yet” just might be the most important. This is a process, and my role is to help clients walk through their items, talking about them, reflecting on what they mean, and eventually arriving at their own decisions. That means a lot of items won’t be placed in “Keep” or “Go” right away—and that’s OK. We’ll get there when the client is ready.
Nearly everything I do could be described as “Clearing.” My other two service categories simply address specific life situations.
